Hello and welcome to my little shop!

My name is Steff and I started The Handmade Magpie in 2018.

What started as the giving of a simple handmade gift, turned into a dream job of becoming a small business owner.

Over the years we have gone through several iterations, name changes and style changes, but all the while still holding onto our love of creating fun & exciting products for you and your home.

Our original products of small, medium and large cosmetics and washbags have expanded over time, to include our best selling, contrast-colour “random crap” bags. We also create many smaller personal accessories such as silk, satin & cotton scrunchies, key fobs, wristlets and reusable sandwich bags!

Some of our larger products include tote bags, soft furnishings and even lampshades.  I also have a bit of a penchant for beautiful brass, studio pottery, art, plants and their pots; anything which gives me that Victorian garden room vibe!  I bring some of these wonderful finds to the larger events where I have plenty of space to show them off.

Location

We are based on Suffolk’s beautiful East Coast, just a stone’s throw from the destination towns of Aldeburgh and Southwold. You can find us throughout the year at various in-person events, fairs and markets across Suffolk, Essex and Norfolk. We have plans to venture further afield into Cambridgeshire too in the not-too-distant future; If you’d like to know if we’ll be popping up near you soon, just head over to the Events tab to see where we are next.

Packaging

We endeavour to be as waste-free as possible, therefore we do sometimes reuse perfectly good tissue paper and we definitely love to recycle a “good box”! We are also working our way through old mailer bags and if we happen to find some secondhand, as-new packaging we will certainly try to keep it out of land-fill.

Delivery / Collection

If you happen to live near-by, we are able to offer discounted or free delivery for those in the Leiston / Saxmundham area. Alternatively, if we are able to bring your order for collection at any of the events we attend, we are happy to try to accommodate this.

Shipping

The cost of shipping depends on where you are in the world and what you order. UK shipping will start from £3.99 second class and international shipping from £8.99.

We aim to send to most countries worldwide.

However, due to the new GPSR shipping & trading regulations, we are currently not able to ship to the EU (including IR) as of December 13th 2024. We can only apologise for the inconvenience and we hope to be able to provide this service again, as soon as more information becomes available. 

Also, as predicted, Trump has confirmed that all De Minimis Exemption Exports of goods to the US will end on 29 August 2025. That means no shipments valued under $800 will enter the US duty-free, whether they originate from the UK, EU, or any other country. This means that unfortunately, we will no longer be offering shipping to the US.

Returns
